Fall has arrived! We all know the signs. Vegetation has changed, combines are whirring
through the fields, and animals are scurrying away from the impending doom of the combine. Semi drivers are roaring down our roads with goals of efficiency and a rapid return to
the field. All of nature is changing around us, and we begin to think of how we are going to
manage all the engagements and challenges that come during the season ahead. As a committee, we have decided to share our upcoming scheduled events, so you are “in the know”
and you can mark your calendars accordingly. We want all women to feel welcome at the
events described below. You will not feel alone, even if you arrive alone, as our committee
members are friendly and embracing. New friendships are made and nurtured, we engage
in learning, serving, and enjoying restaurant lunches together. We meet on the second
Monday of each month at 9:30AM at the Farm Bureau Auditorium.
- On November 11th we will welcome Erin Watson as our speaker. She is working
with Young Life, specifically engaging young moms in a mentoring experience
through demonstrated love. - On December 2nd at 1:30PM we will again be going to Rural Rose in Fisher, and
under Shanna Hortin’s leadership, we will create a Christmas pinecone arrangement. You must sign up and pay for this event in advance by calling Debbie at
the Farm Bureau office at 217-352- 5235. The deadline is November 18th which
will allow Shanna adequate time to purchase supplies. The cost is $40.00. The
arrangement is pictured below. - On December 9th our committee will enjoy a relaxed morning. A specialist in
antiques will be on hand to challenge us
to identify various antiques he will bring.
We will celebrate the upcoming Christmas
holiday by contributing a monetary gift
to an agency that serves members of our
community. - On December 15th, The Women’s
Committee will help serve in the broader
Farm Bureau’s initiative to offer an opportunity for children to have a photo with
Santa and enjoy some craft activities upon
their arrival. An opportunity to meet some
of the needs for the children at Cunningham
Children’s Home will intersect with this
event. This newsletter will provide more
information about this event to serve both
our young families of the Farm Bureau, and
other children who may wish to attend. - When winter comes, and the frozen
tundra greets us, we will have a potluck
soup luncheon to warm us at our regular
meeting in January.
Please consider joining us. Watch the
box in the monthly newsletter to double
check planned activities. Please do protect
and prioritize your attendance!
