Champaign County Farm Bureau Assistant Manager

 

Position: Assistant Manager, Champaign County Farm Bureau

               Full-Time, Salaried

Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible

Reports To: Manager, Champaign County Farm Bureau

 

About the CCFB

               The CCFB is the premier, grassroots agriculture organization in Champaign County, Illinois. The CCFB serves over 10,000 members with a variety of programs and services ranging from young ag leader programs to county wide initiatives like CONNECT Champaign County.

               The CCFB Assistant Manager will be expected to manage independent projects while collaborating with CCFB staff and volunteers on the entire scope of CCFB programming.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

               The duties and responsibilities of the CCFB assistant manager consist of a broad range of topics. The following list is extensive but not complete.

 

The CCFB Assistant Manager will:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive social media presence for the CCFB.
  • Work with the Communications Committee and Communications Director to ensure the CCFB remains the premier voice of agriculture in Champaign County.
  • Plan events and programs including the annual CCFB membership appreciation picnic and manage the CCFB suite at the IAA Annual Meeting in Chicago.
  • Provide staff support for CCFB committees with special emphasis on: Young Leaders, Communications, Women’s Committee, and the Marketing Committee.
  • Work with local 4-H clubs and FFA groups to develop programming that fosters cooperation with those groups.
  • Be the staff liaison for the U of I Collegiate Farm Bureau.
  • Aid the Membership and Outreach Director with retention and engagement of current members and recruitment of new members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in agriculture, communications, marketing, or other applicable degree.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing volunteers
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, mileage will be reimbursed at a federal rate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with mass email and social media campaigns is a plus

 

 

Further Details

  • Salary will reflect experience and qualifications
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required
  • Must be willing to work nights and occasional weekends.
