Central IL June Dairy Day
June is National Dairy Month and time to celebrate local dairy farmers while having a ton of fun and learning about agriculture near you!


JUNE 17, 2-5 p.m. at Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery

Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery, Kilgus Farmstead, Ropp Jersey Cheese, and Green Meadows Farm of Arthur will be sampling and selling their locally raised and made dairy products including cheese, gelato, milk, yogurt, chocolate milk, kefir, and more!

Champaign County Farm Bureau Young Ag Leaders and Champaign County Farm Bureau will provide interactive educational exhibits including a cattle feed play station with a grain play table, soybean sand box, and hay tower for climbing and the Learning Barn filled with ag activities and toys will be on-site.

Champaign Coun...ty Farm Bureau Foundation will be doing kids activities practicing identifying REAL dairy products and learning all about cows. They'll also have more information on how you can get more ag and food education in your kid's schools.

The Land Connection will also be bringing exciting hands-on activities and can help you get started with your dreams of becoming a beginning farmer too.

Former Princess Kay of the Milky Way Minnesota State Dairy Princess finalist and current Young Ag Leader, Amanda Alberg Zwilling,will be displaying her Princess Kay butter sculpture.

Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery barns and orchard will be open for self-guided tours throughout the event. The goats love meet and greets! Cheesemaker and Young Ag Leader, Lynn Doran, will host organized tours at 3 pm and 4 pm.


There will be ALL of the dairy products you can imagine available for sampling and to buy from some great local farms! Each farmer will be doing the sampling so you can ask all the questions you have ever had about how animals are raised and food is made.

Additionally, Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery will have gelato scoops available for sale, Homer Soda Company Rootbeer Floats with PFFC vanilla gelato, and adult beer floats. (Beer to be announced). Beer and wine will be available for purchase sans ice cream too.
Champaign County Farm Bureau Young Ag Leaders will be hosting a cookout with grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, milk, and snacks with ALL OF THE NET PROCEEDS going directly to the Eastern Illinois Foodbank.


June Dairy Day will be at Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery at 4410 N Lincoln Ave, Champaign, IL.

*Note North Lincoln Avenue is closed. From Prospect/Marketview take Olympian directly East to the farm. From Cunningham/Hwy 45 take Ford Harris West to Lincoln South.


On-site. To provide more room for kids and adults to play, all parking will be in the North fields at Prairie Fruits. Handicap parking will be available at the main barns as usual.

WHEN: Saturday, June 17th from 2 - 5 pm

COST: FREE! Non-perishable food donations for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank are highly encouraged and appreciated. We will be collecting food donations for the foodbank in the parking lots at the entrance.

Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leaders raised $978,000 for Harvest for All last year which was directly donated to foodbanks and pantries in local communities. Help us break a million this year!
