Illinois Farm Bureau Awards - A message from Brad Uken, CCFB Manager
I am very pleased to share with each of you some great news regarding some awards we will be receiving at the Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Chicago. This year we will be the recipient of the coveted Presidents Award and the Liberty Bell Award. These awards signify and demonstrate the hard work and dedication of our volunteers this past year!
Each year we submit to the Illinois Farm Bureau what is called PEARS reports. In these reports are three committee areas - Young Leaders, Prime Timers and Women’s Committee and eight program areas - Local Affairs, Policy Development, Communications & Promotion, Legislative, Health & Safety, Commodities & Marketing, Ag Literacy and Member Relations. The reports are judged by my peers from across the state and all the counties are placed in one of five membership groups, we are in group five, the largest counties.
Each of the three committee’s received gold stars.
The eight program areas constitute the judging for the President’s Award. Of the eight areas we received six gold stars plus another gold star for making membership quota and two silver stars. The last time we won the President`s Award was in 2009.
The Liberty Bell award is based on the judging of two of the program areas only Legislative and Local Affairs. Champaign County has received this award three of the last five years.
Overall, the last time we had a clean sweep of these two prestigious awards was on 2007. Each and every one of you should be proud of the organization that you help lead and are a member of. Finally, I want to say THANK YOU for all your efforts this past year, I truly appreciate it!
